Learn How To Sell, Then "Just Do It!"

Nike's "Just Do It!" corporate slogan says it all. It's purpose is to get people
off the couch and up and running towards their goals. The message is, "There's
a wonderful adventure out there waiting for you. Stop making excuses and
take action, or it will run right past you."

How true on the internet as well. We all know that it takes action to succeed.
We even know what has to be done: well written web pages, develop a strong
ezine to follow-up on leads, advertise, offer free reports and ebooks, write
articles, participate in forums, and on and on.

There is no great mystery about the techniques necessary to make money on
the web. There are simply people who "do it" and people who don't.

Information on all the internet promotion techniques you need to succeed is
readily available. If you are not aware of these methods, I'd suggest you hang
out at marketing forums. Pay attention, search the archives and ask
questions to fill in the gaps. And it's a free education to boot.

Here's three very good ones:

Okay, so now you've spent some time there and have learned about some
marketing techniques that actually get results. This leaves three possible
scenarios:

* One: You ARE "doing it" and you ARE making money.

Terrific! Do more of the same. And lots of it! You're talented, so spread your
talent across as many marketing methods as you can as quickly as possible.

* Two: You ARE NOT "doing it" and you are not making money.

Well, how important is success to you? Like any business, online or off,
success only comes with effort. Get off that couch and get busy, or cross this
dream off your list, sorry.

* Three: You are "doing it", but something is wrong. You are still not
making money.

Well, if a Nike ad inspires you to run out the door for a five mile run, chances
are you might not do so well at first. It is likely that all that time on the couch
hasn't equipped you very well for sudden athletic success.

You're taking action, and that's essential! But your initial results may not be
what you had hoped for. You need to work at it for a while to improve and
prepare your body to succeed. Once you have done so, running 5 miles could
become something you accomplish on a regular basis, without the hardships
you experienced early on.

It's no different with your web business. If you're taking action, but are not
getting very good results, it's not the actions that are to blame. It's how you are
doing them. Are your skills "in shape" enough to make these actions work for
you?

You need to look inward at your own level of preparedness to get the job
done. You know what needs to be done. Now it's just a matter of developing
the skill to make it happen.

And the absolute number one skill REQUIRED for any chance at all at web
success is great copy. The internet is a written medium -- websites, ezines,
ads, free reports, ebooks, articles -- it's all about writing ability.

Yes, the only thing even remotely close to being an "internet secret" is the ability
to write strong copy.

The "Guru's" practise the same marketing methods as you and I. They just do
them alot better because they're great writers. Their ads, websites, free
reports, ezines, etc. have a far greater ability to "hook" the reader. It's all in the
words.

Actually, this is good news. You see, it means you don't have to run around
spending money on "internet secrets" or the "perfect money-making" program,
as so many others do.

Instead, you can concentrate your efforts on learning the "hooks" in great
copywriting. The bottom line is NO marketing method will work on the
internet unless you can communicate it better than the competition.

Go to the websites of the experts that you know sell like crazy. Study their
methods, subscribe to their ezines, practise and experiment. It's in the
copywriting that you'll find your ticket to success and the answer to your
frustrations.

And there is not ONE single method you must master. There are a number of
variations that can skin this cat. Here's the links to three master copywriters,
each with their own unique style that, when studied, will provide you with loads
of valuable insights.

Take action! There's a wonderful adventure out there for you too.
